“What’s My Age Again?” is the first single from Blink 182′s third album, Enema Of The State. Written by vocalist and bassist Mark Hoppus, the song is about an adult who still acts like a young child, always up to mischief and tricks. The song peaked at number two on the Modern Rock Tracks chart. It is also part of the compilation Now That’s What I Call Music! 3. It was released to video games such as the Rock Band series and Guitar Hero World Tour. It’s also part of the setlist of Rock Band Unplugged.
The video starts out with the three band members jogging naked down a public sidewalk. As cars drive by and passerbys stare, they just nonchalantly run on as though they are fully clothed. People point, people stare, people jump up out of their seats as they run by them. They run into several pedestrians, sometimes knocking things out of their hands, even stealing a bundle of bananas from a man in a banana suit. The scene flashes from the street to the studio and they are still naked, this time playing their instruments. Musical instruments that is, haha. It was revealed that although the band members were wearing thongs for the outdoors shoot (it was blurred to make them appear naked), for the indoors studio shoot they actually were naked.
They continue their birthday suit jog sown the street causing more chaos, spilling drinks and even causing a couple of girls to wreck as they stare. As they run cross a basketball court, Mark Hoppus steals the basketball from the group of players and shoots it, making the shot. They grin as they run off. Through a park, they happen upon a couple making out. They slap them both on the head and the girl turns around with a huge smile on her face.
It’s the boy’s turn to stop and stare as they pass by a nurse with her shirt open revealing her bra and lots of ample cleavage. This nurse just happens to be played by porn star Janine Lindemulder. They run back to her but she continues strolling down the sidewalk without so much as even a glance in their direction so off they run. Past a little girl with a magnifying glass who stares them down through the glass, past construction workers, residents mowing their grass and then they even run across TV channels. Commercials, news and even The Last Word are all tainted by Blink 182′s revealing intrusion.
The video ends with the boys running naked sown the street again, this time uncensored and unblurred although the camera shot is from the rear. Vocalist and bassist Mark Hoppus stated that: “[the] scene with the butt shots, when we were running down the street, were actually the only real nude scenes. We wore skin-colored Speedos for most of the scenes and when we were running, I realized how unattractive male genitals are. Everything dangling and such. I didn’t think I could be embarrassed easily, but I really was.”
